We are marine scientists specialising in biogeochemistry - the interface between biology, chemistry and geosciences in the oceans. Most of our work focuses on coastal areas known for their ability to store and sequester carbon, collectively known as blue carbon ecosystems. Within our projects we use various techniques to measure, investigate and quantify components and influences on the marine carbon cycle. Our motto of ‘taking the lab to the field’ and conducting on-site anaylsis means we often get our hands & feet dirty - hence our barefoot name.

Our labs and research group are currently located at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
