Carbon cycling & sequestration

The global carbon cycle has been altered dramatically in the last few centuries, through fossil fuel burning, land use change and nutrient enrichment. Using state of the art equipment such as gamma spectroscopy, and cavity-ring down spectroscopy we are undertaking research on how natural systems are responding to this change, and what role natural systems can play in mitigating the effects of climate change through carbon sequestration.
