Land-ocean interactions

The coastal zone is one of the most biogeochemically active areas on earth, receiving large inputs of terrestrially-derived material. In spite of the importance of this area, there still remains large uncertainties in the role of the coastal zone in global biogeochemical cycles. We are undertaking research into the cycling and fate of land-derived material within the coastal zone with a focus on carbon, nutrients, trace metals and greenhouse gases.
